Christopher Beaumont
Australian artist, Christopher Beaumont was born in Melbourne in 1961. With a strong background in maths and sciences, Beaumont became fascinated by seventeenth century Spanish still life paintings, particularly the stark, geometric compositions of fruit and vegetables.
Using digital design software, Beaumont compiles digital photographs to create a composition that is then transferred to canvas by use of a grid. His methodical approach gives the objects a sharp and luminous three-dimensional quality with a elegant and precise sense of style.
Christopher Beaumont’s work is in the collections of the National Gallery of Victoria and many major corporate collections, and he was twice selected for the prestigious Moet and Chandon touring exhibition.
