Gagosian Gallery
Founded in the mid 1980s, the Gagosian Gallery is a contemporary art gallery owned by Larry Gagosian. He was voted the most powerful figure in the world of art, according to the annual poll of its movers and shakers in the British magazine Art Review. Gagosian Gallery is comprised of ten gallery spaces: four in the United States (three in New York, one in Beverly Hills), two in London, one in Rome, Italy, one in Athens, Greece, one in Paris, France, and one in Geneva, Switzerland.
Gagosian Gallery is renowned for showing work by prominent and famous artists such as Jean Michel-Basquiat, Cy Twombly, Jackson Pollock, Cindy Sherman, Jeff Koons, Yves Klein, Richard Serra, Damien Hirst and Andy Warhol.
Through its various gallery spaces, Gagosian Gallery shows work by contemporary artists as well as showing historical exhibitions featuring the works of artists such as Calder and Miro. Gagosian also represents the Alberto Giacometti estate in the United States.
