What is Accreditation?
Accreditation ensures the accountability of educational institutions and a basic level of quality in the education you receive. Accreditation organizations work with institutions to establish whether or not the school is meeting its own objectives, and the objectives of the accreditating organization. It also ensures your degrees will be recognized for the true achievements they are. Many of the schools listed on All About Art Schools are accredited by various organizations. There are at least sixty recognized institutional and programmatic accrediting organizations.
Accreditation organizations exist to review colleges, universities, and other institutions of higher education for standards of quality and improvement efforts. Such processes are typically undertaken through a self-evaluation study, a review by an accrediting body such as a commision, and a review by a group of evaluators.
In most countries other than the Unites States, the government is responsible for accreditation. Below are some of the accrediting organizations you will find on All About Art Schools Directory.
