Massachusetts College of Art and Design is a public, independent college of art and design. The College offers undergraduate, graduate, and post-baccalaureate programs in a variety of artistic disciplines including ceramics, fashion, glass, industrial design, painting, fibers, architecture and animation.

Founded in 1873 the Massachusetts College of Art & Design (MassArt) was the first independant public college of art in the nation and the first school to grant a degree.
Undergraduate students at Massachusetts College of Art and Design can choose from one of eighteen different programs of study for the bachelor of fine arts degree. Graduate study at MassArt encompasses master's programs in architecture, art education, and in fine arts and design.
The college is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and the National Association of Schools of Art and Design. MassArt is also a member of the Association of Independent Colleges of Art and Design (AICAD).
