Founded in 1898, the New Hampshire Institute of Art is the only independant state college of art in New Hampshire. The New Hampshire Institute of Art is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD).
The New Hampshire Institute of Art is also currently seeking accreditation with New England Association of Schools and Colleges to deliver degree program in Art Education.
The New Hampshire Institute of Art has an articulation agreement for students from the University of New Hampshire, NHCTC Laconia, Vicennes University, Indiana. Students who attain associate degrees from these institutions have a simplified application and transfer procedures in a '2+2' agreement.
