Established by a breakaway group of artists in 1875, the League is an atelier school in which art is taught and developed through engagement in drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking and assemblage. Still working in the tradition of its founders, the school aims to accommodate students from all walks of life with flexible classes at reasonable prices. There are no 'degree' programs, but their courses focus on mastering skills and visual thinking in an informal atmosphere which many have found to be suitable for working at their own pace.
