The University at Buffalo is the state’s largest and most comprehensive public university and is spread across three campuses. The College of Art & Sciences delivers programs in Visual Arts, Art History, Film Studies, Music and Theatre.

The University at Buffalo ( UB) was founded in May 1846 as a private medical school to train doctors. Now the University encompasses approximately 14 schools and colleges, including the The College of Arts & Sciences. UB's alumni and faculty have produced a President of the United States, astronauts, Nobel laureates & Pulitzer Prize winners. UB also features the Centre for the Arts, a cultural institution established in 1994 on the North campus for theatrical and artistic performances and showings. It is also used as a teaching facility for students in disciplines such as media studies, art, theatre, and dance.
