Founded in 1928 as a community college, the Angelo State University is a member of the Texas Tech University System. In 1965 the institution was designated as Angelo State College. The name was changed to Angelo State University in 1969.
Angelo State University has been recognized as a top regional university by U.S. News and World Report (www.angelo.edu). Angelo State University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award degrees at associate, baccalaureate, and graduate levels.
