Baylor University in Waco, Texas, is a private Baptist university, and a nationally ranked liberal arts institution. Founded in 1845, it is the largest Baptist university in the world by enrollment. Through their College of Arts and Sciences, Baylor Univeristy runs programs in studio arts, art history, architecture, theatre arts and fabric design.

Baylor University is located on a 735-acre campus in Waco, Texas, with an area population greater than 229,000. In 2008, 72 percent of entering freshmen were in the top 25 percent of their high school graduating class (www.baylor.edu). The Campus features the Martin Museum of Art which is located in the Hooper-Schaefer Fine Arts Center at Baylor University. The Museum serves as a valuable teaching tool for students and faculty, incorporating and referencing exhibitions into their course content. The Museum features and extensive permanent collection of over 1,500 art objects.
Also within the Department of Art is the The Allbritton Art Institute, which was established in1998 by Mr. and Mrs. Joe Allbritton to promote the appreciation and study of the artists and art movements of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Affiliated with the Department of Art, the Allbritton Art Institute deliver courses on 19th and 20th century art history for undergraduate students.
Also located in the Hooper-Schaefer Fine Arts Centre is the The Bill Cook and Pat Cook Annex which is home to Baylor Department of Theatre Arts. This state-of-the-art facility houses three working theatre spaces: the Jones Theatre, a 300-seat proscenium; the Mabee Theatre, a 250-seat thrust; and Theatre 11, a multi-form space, with movable seating and masking and an extensive lighting/sound grid.
