The Adelaide Central School of Art is a private organisation established in the year 1982 and is located in Norwood, South Australia. The School offers both award and non-award programs. The undergraduate award program offers an associate and bachelor degree of visual art . The School also offers a double degree program with the Flinders University, allowing students to combine a bachelor of arts and visual arts. The School also conducts non-award programs that include weekend recreational courses, workshops and master classes for professionals.
The studio-based programs deliver structured learning systems that build artistic and intellectual skills by drawing on the theory, history and practices of art. Small class sizes (maximum of twelve for painting, drawing and sculpture) and one-to-one interaction with lecturers provides a supportive environment for students.
The ACSA Short Course Program offers a diverse selection of over 30 courses ranging from our very popular introductory drawing and painting classes for complete beginners through to more advanced classes for those who wish to hone or extend their skills.
ACSA’s Studio Gallery is a professional and popular exhibition space, featuring a quality exhibition program that runs in parallel with Adelaide Central Gallery’s program. Exhibition openings are staged to coincide with the main Gallery program, confirming ACSA’s Studio Gallery as a well regarded, contemporary and professional exhibition space in its own right.
