Set in the hub of Melbourne, LaTrobe College of Art & Design started as a gallery in the early 1990s and later evolved into an arts college. At LaTrobe, students have the option to enrol in a single subject, or a course; in either visual arts or graphic design.
LaTrobe offers the fully accredited 21885vic Diploma of Visual Arts. Two streams are offered - the Fine Art stream and the Art & Design stream. These streams will enable students to undertake a mixture of art & design units as part of their visual arts or to concentrate purely on fine art .
The Certificate of Graphic Design is a 1 semester full-time or 1 year part-time
course that enables students to develop contemporary creative and technical
design skills and gain a thorough knowledge of industry requirements in the
graphic design field. The Diploma of Graphic Design and Digital Art is a 1 year full-time or 2 year part-time course that will will open up oppor-
tunities for individuals, intent on working in the graphics and multimedia industry.
LaTrobe College of Art & Design also houses the LaTrobe Street Gallery which presents exhibitions from students and external artists/designers.
