 Founded in 1868, the Slade School of Fine Art is located in the centre of London, providing students with ample resources with its close proximity to galleries, libraries, theatres and
museums.
The Slade Centre for Electronic Media in Fine Art (SCEMFA) opened in 1995 and has provided the opportunity to focus on research into Electronic Media and Fine Art.
The Slade School of Fine Art offers a Master of Arts, a Master of Fine Arts, a Masters of Philosophy as well as an undergraduate program.
In 2009/10 there will be around 140 full-time undergraduate students at the Slade studying on either the three-year BFA in Fine Art or the four-year BA in Fine Art. Both programmes are studio-based. In addition the BA includes a history and theory of art component and an additional course chosen from another department of University College London.
